Dynamic viscosity converter

Convert Pa·s, mPa·s, poise, centipoise and lb/(ft·s).

Conversion

This tool lets you convert dynamic viscosity between pascal-seconds, poise, centipoise and equivalent units.

Result

Approximation

Enter a dynamic viscosity value to convert.

Quick explanation

Enter a positive or zero dynamic viscosity, then choose the source and target units.

The result is recalculated automatically in the browser.

Additional information

What is dynamic viscosity?

Dynamic viscosity describes a fluid’s internal resistance to flow. The reference unit is the pascal-second, written Pa·s.

Poise and centipoise

Poise and centipoise are still common in some fields. As a useful reference, 1 cP = 1 mPa·s.

Dynamic or kinematic?

Dynamic viscosity should not be confused with kinematic viscosity, which also depends on fluid density.

No data transfer

Conversions are performed locally, with no call to the AppErgo server.
