Lux and foot-candle
Lux is the SI unit of illuminance. Foot-candle is still used in some English-speaking contexts, especially building, photography and lighting.
Phot and nox
One phot equals 10,000 lux. One nox equals 0.001 lux, like one millilux.
Illuminance or luminance?
Illuminance describes light received by a surface. Luminance describes light emitted or perceived in a direction.
