What does power measure?
Power indicates an amount of energy per unit of time. One watt equals one joule per second.
Horsepower, watts and common uses
Watts and kilowatts are common for electricity. Horsepower is still used for engines, while BTU/h or kcal/h appear in some thermal contexts.
