Additional information
Find the weekday of a date
This tool quickly tells you whether a date falls on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or another day of the week. Just select a date: the result updates automatically.
It can help you check an appointment, find the weekday of a birthday, prepare an event, review a deadline or simply confirm a past or future date.
What the result shows
The main result displays the day of the week. The full date is also shown to avoid confusion, especially when comparing several nearby dates.
The tool also indicates whether the date is a weekday or a weekend day. It finally shows the ISO week linked to the date, which can be useful for calendars, schedules and weekly tracking.
Understanding the ISO week
The ISO week is a standard way to number weeks. It starts on Monday and ends on Sunday.
Week 1 is the week that contains the first Thursday of the year. Because of this rule, some dates at the very beginning or very end of a year may belong to the ISO week of a neighbouring year.
A deliberately simple tool
The goal is to get an immediate answer: one date as input, one clear weekday as output. Secondary shortcuts and options were left out to keep the interface light and direct.
To analyze a week in more detail, use the week number tool. To calculate the gap between two dates, the date duration tools will be more appropriate.
