Additional information
How to calculate an end time
Enter a start time, then enter the duration to add. The result updates automatically whenever a value changes.
The start time uses a standard HH:MM:SS time format. The duration to add uses an H:M:S format, so you can enter a short or long duration in hours, minutes and seconds.
What is the difference between the start time and the duration?
The start time is a precise time within the day, such as 09:30:00 or 14:15:00. It therefore stays within a 24-hour time format.
The duration to add is an interval. It can be longer than one day when needed, for example several dozen hours.
What happens if the duration goes past midnight?
If the added duration goes past the end of the day, the tool normalizes the end time on a 24-hour clock and shows the day offset. This makes it clear whether the result is on the same day, the next day or several days later.
What results are displayed?
The main result shows the end time. Additional details show the day offset and the total duration added, making the calculation easier to read.
When is this tool useful?
Use it to prepare a schedule, estimate an arrival time, organize a work session, calculate the end of a trip, plan a cooking time, schedule a meeting or check the end of a timed activity.
Difference with other time tools
This tool starts from a start time and a duration to find an end time. To compare two times directly, use the Time between two times tool. To add several separate durations, use the duration adder.
