Additional information

How to use the noise generator

Choose a noise type, then set the duration and volume. You can use the − and + buttons or type the desired duration directly.

The Play button starts the selected noise. The sound is generated directly in the browser.

Create a WAV file

The download button generates a mono 16-bit WAV file without calling the server. The file is created locally by the browser from the selected noise type, duration, and volume.

The duration is limited to keep the file lightweight. A WAV file is uncompressed: the longer the duration, the larger the file.

White, pink, and brown noise

White noise contains energy spread across the frequency spectrum. It is often perceived as a fairly bright hiss.

Pink noise reduces high frequencies more strongly. It usually sounds more balanced to the ear.

Brown noise is even more focused on low frequencies. It gives a deeper and softer sound.

What is a noise generator used for?

A noise generator can be used to test headphones, speakers, audio output, or a sound environment. It can also be used to create a short simple audio signal.

Actual perception depends on audio equipment, volume, environment, and each person’s hearing.

Tool limits

The tool is intentionally simple: three noise types, limited duration, adjustable volume, direct playback, and WAV export.

It does not replace a professional audio generator, but it is enough to quickly create a lightweight local test noise.

Noise or fixed frequency?

The noise generator produces a broad and random signal. To generate a stable and precise frequency, use the frequency generator instead.

Data and privacy

Playback and WAV generation are handled directly in the browser. The noise type, duration, volume, and generated file are not sent to the server to use the tool.
