Additional information
How to use the stereo test
Choose the left, center, or right channel, then select a test sound: pure tone or noise.
In frequency mode, adjust the value in hertz with the − and + buttons or by typing a number directly. The Play button starts the audio test.
What is a stereo test used for?
A stereo test quickly checks whether headphones, speakers, or audio output correctly preserve left/right separation.
It can help reveal swapped channels, a missing channel, a bad connection, or an obvious imbalance between both sides.
Left, center, and right
Left mode sends the sound to the left channel. Right mode sends it to the right channel. Center mode sends the same signal to both sides.
With headphones, the result should be very clear: left in the left ear, right in the right ear, center in the middle.
Tone or noise
Frequency mode uses a simple sine wave. It is useful for testing a channel with a stable and precise sound.
Noise mode uses simple pink noise. It can be more comfortable for checking a speaker or detecting a weak channel.
Tool limits
The test depends on the browser, audio system, headphones, speakers, and device settings. It does not replace professional measurement equipment.
The goal is to provide a quick, simple, and local check, without installation and without external audio files.
Stereo test or noise generator?
The stereo test is used to check the left, center, and right channels. To generate white, pink, or brown noise and download it as a WAV file, use the noise generator instead.
Data and privacy
The sound is generated directly in the browser. The selected settings are not sent to the server to use the tool.
