Additional information
How to read and write Morse code
International Morse code represents each letter with a sequence of short and long signals. It is often written with a dot . for the short signal and a dash - for the long signal. This tool always encodes with these standard symbols, then can also decode messages written with two or three custom characters.
Text to Morse
Text to Morse mode converts letters, digits, and common punctuation. Accents are converted to simple letters to keep the message compatible with the international table.
Morse to text
Morse to text mode analyzes the characters present. Two characters are used as dot and dash. With three characters, the third one can act as a letter separator.
Ambiguous characters
If several interpretations are possible, use the detected interpretation panel to assign each character to dot, dash, separator, or ignore it.

Concrete examples
SOS becomes ... --- .... If a message uses 2 for the dot, 4 for the dash, and - to separate letters, the tool displays these three characters so you can confirm or test another mapping.
To turn text into radio spelling words, you can also use the NATO phonetic alphabet. To turn letters into numbers, see A1Z26.
