Frequency sweep
Generate a progressive sound between two frequencies
Generate a frequency sweep between two values, play it in the browser, and download it as a WAV file.

Quick explanation
Choose a start frequency, an end frequency, a duration, and a volume. The tool generates a progressive tone directly in the browser, with instant playback and optional WAV download.

Additional information
How to use the frequency sweep tool
Enter a start frequency, an end frequency, then choose the sweep duration. You can use the − and + buttons or type the values directly.
The Play button starts the sweep. The sound is generated directly in the browser.
Create a WAV file
The download button generates a mono 16-bit WAV file without calling the server. The file is created locally by the browser from the selected frequencies, duration, and volume.
The duration is limited to keep the file lightweight. A WAV file is uncompressed: the longer the duration, the larger the file.
Rising or falling sweep
If the start frequency is lower than the end frequency, the sweep rises progressively. If the start frequency is higher than the end frequency, the sweep falls progressively.
There is no need for a separate rising or falling mode: the order of the two frequencies is enough.
What is a frequency sweep used for?
A frequency sweep can be used to test headphones, speakers, or audio output by moving through a frequency range. It may help reveal vibrations, resonances, or less audible areas.
Actual perception depends on audio equipment, volume, environment, and each person’s hearing.
Tool limits
Frequencies can be set between 20 Hz and 20,000 Hz, which roughly covers the human audible range. Duration can range from 0.5 second to 30 seconds.
The tool is intentionally simple: sine wave, adjustable volume, direct playback, and WAV export.
Sweep or fixed frequency?
The frequency sweep is used to move progressively through a sound range. To generate one stable frequency, use the frequency generator instead.
Data and privacy
Playback and WAV generation are handled directly in the browser. Frequencies, duration, volume, and the generated file are not sent to the server to use the tool.
