Additional information
How to play the sliding puzzle?
The goal is to put all tiles back in order using the empty space.
Click a tile next to the empty space to slide it into the free slot.
Grid sizes
The game offers three sizes: 3×3, 4×4, and 5×5.
The larger the grid, the more planning and patience the puzzle requires.
Moves and time
Each valid move increases the move counter.
The timer starts on the first move and helps you track how long it takes to solve the grid.
Controls
You can move tiles with the mouse, by touch on mobile, or with the keyboard when the grid has focus.
With the keyboard, the arrow keys move a tile into the empty space when the move is possible.
New game and solution
The “New game” button shuffles the grid and starts a new puzzle.
The “Show solution” button displays the solved grid. It is mainly useful to check the final order or to end a blocked game.
End of the game
The game is completed when all tiles are back in order and the empty space is at the end.
A success message then shows the number of moves used and the elapsed time.
Strategy tip
Solve the first rows first, then keep the empty space close to the area you want to organise.
On larger grids, progress step by step instead of moving tiles at random.
Data and privacy
The game runs directly in your browser. The grid, moves, and time are not sent to a server.
