Random number generator

Generate an integer between two bounds.

Random

Generate a random integer between a minimum and maximum value. Both bounds are included, fields are corrected when needed, and history can be copied or downloaded as TXT.

Result

Ready to generate a number.

History

  1. No generated number yet.

Quick explanation

Enter different minimum and maximum values, adjust them with plus and minus buttons or use a preset, then click Generate. The result is added to history and can be exported with previous draws.

Additional information

How to generate a random number

Enter a minimum value and a maximum value, then click Generate.

The result is an integer between these two bounds, including both minimum and maximum.

What happens if the bounds are reversed?

If the minimum is greater than the maximum, the tool puts the values back in the right order when the field is validated or when generation starts.

An entry such as 100 then 1 therefore becomes a range from 1 to 100.

Are out-of-range values accepted?

No. When a value exceeds the limits used by the tool, it is replaced with a valid value.

This avoids running a draw with an impossible or excessively large interval.

What are presets for?

Presets quickly fill common ranges, such as 1 to 6, 1 to 10, or 1 to 100.

They are useful for simulating a die, choosing a score out of ten, or producing an integer percentage.

What does history contain?

History keeps the numbers generated during the current session.

Copy and TXT download use this history in a numbered format, which is useful for keeping several successive draws.

Concrete example

To choose a winner among 80 numbered tickets, set the minimum to 1 and the maximum to 80, then generate a number.
