Quick explanation

Guide the snake to eat apples, score points, and beat your record. On desktop, use the arrow keys, WASD, or swipe with the mouse on the board.

On mobile, the board is mentally divided into four touch zones, formed by the diagonals of the square: tap the top area to move up, the bottom area to move down, the left area to turn left, and the right area to turn right. You can also swipe on the grid.

The game ends if the snake hits a wall or its own tail.

Additional information

How to play Snake?

Guide the snake around the board to eat apples as they appear one by one.

Each apple increases your score and makes the snake longer, which gradually makes movement more difficult.

Desktop controls

On desktop, you can control the snake with the arrow keys or WASD.

You can also swipe with the mouse on the board to change direction.

Touch controls on mobile

On smartphones and tablets, the board is mentally divided into four triangles by its two diagonals.

The top area moves the snake up, the bottom area moves it down, the left area turns it left, and the right area turns it right.

You can therefore tap directly on the part of the board that matches the direction you want, without any visible arrow buttons. Swiping on the grid is also supported.

Available speeds

The game offers three speeds: slow, normal, and fast.

The selected speed changes how quickly the snake moves. A faster game therefore requires quicker reactions.

Score and records

Your score increases by one point for each apple eaten.

Records are separated by speed: slow, normal, and fast. This lets you compare your results under fair game conditions.

End of the game

The game ends if the snake hits a wall or collides with its own tail.

You can then start a new game and try to improve your score.

Strategy tip

Avoid trapping yourself in a corner and try to keep open space in front of the snake.

When the snake becomes long, plan several moves ahead instead of only following the apple.

Data and privacy

The game runs directly in your browser. Moves, score, and apple positions are not sent to a server.

Records may be stored locally on your device, if your browser allows it.
